Why We Gather: The Story Behind Wildflower Crafts
In a world that moves faster every day, many of us are quietly longing for the same things: connection, creativity, and a chance to simply slow down.
Wildflower Crafts was born from that longing.
For years, I have worked as a social worker, walking alongside people as they navigated stress, burnout, grief, anxiety, and life's many transitions. Again and again, I noticed something simple but profound: healing doesn't always happen through words alone. Sometimes it begins when our hands are busy, our nervous systems begin to settle, and we feel safe enough to simply be present.
Creativity has always been part of what makes us human. Long before we had screens and endless notifications, we gathered around fires, wove baskets, painted pottery, carved wood, stitched quilts, and shared stories. Creating together wasn't just a hobby—it was how communities connected.
Somewhere along the way, many of us forgot that.
Wildflower Crafts is an invitation to remember.
Our workshops are about much more than taking home a beautiful terrarium, lantern, or piece of art. They are an opportunity to step away from the constant demands of daily life and reconnect with something essential.
To slow down.
To breathe.
To make something with your own two hands.
To meet new people—or simply enjoy quiet companionship while creating.
To rediscover the joy of learning something new without worrying about being perfect.
I believe creativity belongs to everyone. You don't have to consider yourself "artistic" to enjoy making something beautiful. In fact, some of my favorite moments happen when someone says, "I'm not creative," only to surprise themselves by what they're able to create.
That transformation has very little to do with the finished project.
It has everything to do with giving yourself permission to play, explore, and be fully present.
Nature is woven into everything we do at Wildflower Crafts because it reminds us of something important: growth doesn't happen overnight. Wildflowers don't compare themselves to one another. They bloom in their own time, in their own way, and together they create something breathtaking.
I think people are a lot like that.
My hope is that every Wildflower Crafts gathering feels welcoming, peaceful, and inspiring—a place where you can arrive exactly as you are and leave feeling just a little lighter than when you came.
Whether you're joining us for your very first workshop or returning with friends, thank you for being part of this growing community.
I can't wait to create with you.
